Mother's Day

Mother's Day
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and his family

There's an old Italian saying that goes there are two things in life that will never leave you: the eye of God and the love of a mother.

Today I send all my love to my mother, Matilda Raffa Cuomo, my family's rock, and wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers across this great state. I was lucky to be able to celebrate Mother's Day with my three wonderful daughters, too.

Earlier today my mother joined me to sign life-saving legislation to expand camera speed zones in New York City. Every mother and parent wants to protect their children from harm's way, and this new bill will do just that by reducing traffic fatalities: It's a common-sense reform that we know works.

To all the mothers in New York: once again, we thank you and we are grateful for all you do.

Ever Upward,

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo
